We keep around twenty cars at a time, each one bought because we would happily own it ourselves. Every car is inspected, serviced where it needs it, and sold with a warranty and an honest description.

We will take almost any car in part exchange and give you a firm figure over the phone once we have a few details. The offer stands when you arrive, provided the car is as described.
Hire purchase and personal contract purchase are available through a panel of lenders, subject to status. We will give you a written quotation with nothing hidden in the small print.
We deliver anywhere in mainland Britain on a covered transporter, and we can arrange a video walk-round before you commit if you cannot visit in person.
Every car leaves with a minimum of six months' warranty, a fresh service where one is due, and at least six months' MOT. Extended cover for up to three years is available.
Saltmarsh & Ives was started by two friends who had spent years buying and selling cars for other people and wanted to do it properly on their own account. We are deliberately small. Twenty cars is about as many as we can know inside out, and we would rather turn a car away than sell one we are not sure of.
Most of our stock comes from private owners and from customers trading up, which is why so many of the cars here have one or two owners and a full main-dealer history. We photograph every car ourselves, write every description ourselves, and we will always tell you about the things that are not perfect.
Viewings are by appointment so that we can give you our full attention and have the car warm and ready when you arrive.
